Orthopaedic Surgeon

Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.  Dr. Prohaska is a fellowship trained and board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, Knee, Shoulder and Elbow surgery.  He practices in Wichita, Kansas as part of Advanced Orthopaedic Associates, a group of nine, fellowship trained and highly skilled, orthopaedic surgeons-all committed to excellence in orthopaedic surgery.

Having attended the highly respected Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Prohaska is uniquely qualified to provide you with the highest quality in orthopaedic care.  As a result of his commitment to excellence, you can be assured that you will receive the finest care possible, utilizing the most effective and advanced surgical techniques possible.

Dr. Prohaska currently performs procedures, such as AC joint reconstructions, arthroscopicly. These procedures have traditionally been done as an open procedure, or treated with a wait and see approach. He also offers shoulder replacement techniques that span options for the younger patient with arthritis, to those who need a reverse total shoulder due to arthritis from a chronic rotator cuff tear.   His surgical techniques are as "cutting edge" as anywhere in the country.

D>r. Prohaska provides instruction at national courses teaching other orthopaedists about advanced surgical techniques.  He is a clinical instructor with the University of Kansas School of Medicine- Wichita, and teaches orthopaedic, family medicine, and internal medicine residents, and physician assistant students.

So, whether you are a 68 year old retired housewife with a rotator cuff tear, or a 19 year old athlete with a torn ACL,  Dr. Prohaska has the experience and expertise needed to provide you with the best possible outcome.
